Scalable Ebook System

With a library of 14 eBooks created over several years by different designers, the output had become inconsistent—a collection of individual pieces rather than a coherent series. As part of a broader redesign, all eBooks had to be rebuilt—in up to four languages, with significantly varying text lengths, and across both landscape and portrait formats.

To address this, I defined a set of core page types and developed a system with clear rules for typography and spacing. We balanced consistency and variation: recognisable as a cohesive series, while distinct enough for readers engaging with multiple eBooks.

To balance more content-heavy pages, I created a library of emotion-driven app visuals that shifted the focus from how the product looks to how learning a new language feels. These assets were pre-produced in up to four languages and tailored to different lessons and industries.
